John has been a wonderful treasured friend from kindergarten on to LHS and beyond. We were all part of the Yankee Hill neighborhood or you could say family. The Hruza place was many times a gathering place since they lived on Folsom Street right across from the State Hospital where we played a lot of baseball and football.
We had such a wonderful time as kids and continued through adulthood.
He was so funny. When he had the Dairy Sweet on 27th I would stop in. If he saw me coming to the door he would tell the kids to hide the money or lock the door. I loved it.
He was like a brother and I miss him so much already.
