Duane L. Nelson of Scottsdale AZ, died February 14, 2025.  After graduating from LHS Duane attended the University of Nebraska.  He later joined the Army National Guard and served six months of active duty at Fort Leonard Wood MO.  He returned to Lincoln and began working at National Bank of Commerce in Computer Sales.  Duane lived in Lincoln until the late 1980's and then relocated to Scottsdale AZ where he continued his banking career.  He met and married, Marcy to whom he was married for 33 years.  Duane contracted cancer around 2011 then moved into a long period of remission.  His cancer returned in 2024 and he died shortly after.  In addition to Marcy, Duane is survived by two children Kristina and Ken.  Condolences go out from our LHS Class of '61.  Many classmates fondly remember Duane by his nickname, Nelly.  The LHS Class of 1961 is grateful to Marcy for contacting our classmate and making us aware of this information.
