Ernest lived most of his life in Lincoln but had moved to the Masonic Home in Plattsmouth, NE in the later stages of his life.  Ernest died July 4, 1996 of ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease).  He was married to Shirley and had two children and one grandchild. 

Ernest earned a Bachelor's Degreee from Doane College and his career was in sales.  He was a member of the Scottish Rite, the Shrine and East Lincoln Lodge.  He played the trumpet in the Shrine Band and in church groups.  Also he was a member of Toastmasters International.
