In Memory

Darwin L. Bigley

Through information provided in the Lincoln City Directory, Darwin died in either very late 1964 (November or December), but most likely in 1965.  He is listed in the 1964 directory but not in 1965.  That reference directory was published each year in November or December.  Darwin died as a result of a gunshot wound, an incident which occurred on December 3, 1960 while he sat in his car in front of Pershing Auditorium, on So. 15th Street.  Due to the extent of his injuries he was left a quadriplegic the remaining five years of his life.  He was survived by his mother, E. Hazel Bigley.

Darwin lost his battle to live in either 1963 or 1964.      Gone but not forgotten.

I remember Darwin. He was a friend. I knew about the incident when it happened. He will never be forgotten.

Darwin and I were in the Everett Jr. High Orchestra together. He played trumpet and I played violin. We shared the title "Rhythm Kings of the Orchestra". He was a good guy, just a little wild. I didn't know how or when he died. Gone but not forgotten.
