Val was living in Waverly at the time of his death, March 13, 2005.  After graduating from LHS he attended the Nebraska Vocational Technical School in Milford and has worked at the State Penitentiary.  He also was employed as the Head Pel Operator at Gooch's Mill.  Val was employed in the Operation and Maintenance Department in Lincoln Public Schools.  He served in the U. S. Army.  In the past he enjoyed travel, music, drawing and painting.  He was an avid model train railroader.  He loved his family and his dogs.  Val is survived by three siblings and spouses.
