Sharon attended Randolph Elementary, Lefler Junior High and Lincoln High. Todd Hoover's insightful and honest comment appearing below, describes Sharon's situation back in the 50's. A recollection I had was the kindness Cheris Wright consistently showed to Sharon in their years at Randolph and Lefler.
Sharon died August 15, 2004 and is survived by one sister.

Sharon was developmentally disabled and always kept to herself. Looking back nearly fifty years, Sharon's parents were way ahead of their time as Sharon was "mainstreamed". Clearly, not from the perspective of public law but, instead, wanted Sharon to be part of and share normal life. I remember teasing Sharon a few times during elementary school until that behavior was corrected by one of the teachers. Thanks to Sharon and thanks to that one teacher who understood Sharon and helped me better appreciate disabilities.
