Billie E. Mixon (Kiefer)

Billie lived most of her adult life in or near Austin, TX.  The majority of her career Billie worked in various positions for the IRS.  She took early retirement after contracting diabetes and COPD.  Billie had several interests.  She was a member of the Society of Creative Acronyms (SCA), which produces Medieval Fairs, a group in which she and her son were very active.  Billie also became very interested in computer animation and she attended school to advance her knowledge in this area.  Genealogy became another serious interest and Billie researched her mother’s ancestors back for several generations.  Billie died September 13, 2004, of Primary Pulmonary Hypertension.  She is survived by one daughter and one son.  Billie is preceded in death by one son who died in a car-train accident in the late 1960’s.  It was Billie’s long held desire to return to Lincoln and attend an LHS Class of ’61 reunion.  She also had a life long wish to visit England.  When her daughter married and moved to the UK she took her mother’s ashes with her.  So this wish of Billie’s was fulfilled.

The LHS Class of ‘61 learned of Billie's death through a communication received on December 23, 2010, from Billie's sister, Crystal Mixon-Rawlins.  LHS classmates genuinely appreciate receiving this information.
