In Memory

Janis K. Pitsch

Janis lived in Lincoln and worked with a group of Lincoln dentists.  She attended UNL and graduated from the University of Iowa and was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.  Her passions were her family, numerous friends, her home and gardens, tennis and her beautiful companion, a standard poodle, Emma.  Janis died February 2, 2008.  She was survived by her mother, sibling and spouse and nieces and nephews.

Janis left an endowment to fund "Pitsch Green", a 2011 garden area at 33rd and Sheridan that includes a bench and a new bronze version of her beloved, "Emma".

A small triangle of city park across the street from Jan's former home has been established in Jan's memory and a sign posted names the area "Jan Pitsch Green".  A bench with a brass marker also commemorates the area.  Jan's park is located at approximately 32nd and Sheridan Blvd. on the south side of the street.  To those responsible I want to express my appreciation.  I often take walks along this street and I noticed the sign about two weeks ago.
