Above is a recent picture of Dick and Norma Jean, his oldest sister. Dick's nephew flew her out to Colorado.  Travel was difficult for both of them, so many years passed between visits and this time together was extremely special.

Dick died on May 19, 2011.  We are grateful to Dick's ex-wife, Carolyn, for her thoughtful consideration in sharing this sad event with classmates.  Carolyn also shared special details about Dick's life and again, we wish to express our appreciation.

After graduating from Lincoln High School, Dick went to work for the Burlington Northern Railroad.  In 1964 he married Carolyn Hanneman, they moved to Colorado in 1967, where Dick continued his employment with the Burlington Northern Railroad as a Brakeman/Switchman. He later retired from the railroad. They have two daughters Michelle and Lisa, and have 5 grandchildren.  Carolyn and Dick divorced after 22 years of marriage, remained close friends, and enjoyed their daughters and grandkids.  He loved Colorado, the mountains and travel.  He loved his grandkids and was looking forward to the oldest grandson's marriage this coming September.  He is missed by all his family and friends.
