Artis Trout Zimmerman shared this about her close connection to Carol.

"Yes, we stayed in touch after high school. She was a close friend, and in the mid 60's we also became neighbors. She lived catty-corner across the street. Carol was babysitting for my 2 sons for about a year.  I moved to Calif in 1985; therefore, we were not as close as before. She died of breast cancer....much, much toooo young."  Carol died in August of 1989.
