July 25, 1943 - April 11, 2023
Janice Marie Westbrook Sachs entered into eternal life on Tuesday, April 11th, surrounded by the love of her family and cradled in the arms of Jesus.
Janice was the second-born of the six children of Johnny Westbrook and Norma Snyder, growing up in Lincoln, Nebraska. She loved quilting, cooking, and showed a special tenderness for animals of all kinds. Janice graduated from Lincoln High School in 1961. She married the love of her life and best friend, John Sachs, in August of 1965 after meeting him on a blind date at the Shrine Circus. Together they traveled the world and enjoyed over 57 years of love, adventure and happiness. Janice was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother with energy that could light up a room. She will be deeply missed but will forever live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew her.
Janice is survived by her devoted husband, John Thomas Sachs of Cypress, Texas; daughter Kelly (Dennis) Ulanday of Cypress, Texas and son Damon (Sharon) Sachs of Katy, Texas; seven grandchildren; sister Pamala (Mike) Fox and brothers Charlie Westbrook, David (Wanita) Westbrook and Joe (Linda) Snyder; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Janice was greeted in heaven by those who preceded her, including her parents, grandparents, father-in-law Warren “Red” Phillippe, mother-in-law Eleanor Phillippe, brother Donnie Westbrook, brothers-in-law Mike Sachs and Howard Sachs, sisters-in-law Diane Johnson and Sue Sachs, and nephews Darin Johnson and Steve Sachs.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association of Houston and Southeast Texas (https://act.alz.org/goto/Janice_Sachs).
