Robert Zichek

After graduation Bob joined the Navy.  He completed Radar School.  As a radarman he entered the ports of Yokosuka, Japan, Okinawa, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore, Wake and Hawaii.  After being discharged from the Navy, he attended UNL before enlisting in the Air Force and became an Aircraft Traffic Controller.  Assignments took him to Wyoming, Japan, Okinawa and Germany.  While living in Europe, Bob traveled extensively.  Bob received Good Conduct Medals and a Unit Citation Award.  In 1969 Bob returned to Lincoln and attended Milford Vocational Training School in Electronic Communications and Servicing.  Bob’s hobbies were photography, music and travel.  Bob was a Disabled American Veteran and “Domestic Engineer”. 

 

The news of Bob's death reached us in January of 2010.  He was living in Lincoln at the time of his death, March 5, 2005.  He is survived by one son.
