David (Doc) Daniel Snyder died December 24, 2013, in Waco, Texas.  We are grateful to our classmate, Larry Phillips, who has been in touch with Doc's daughter Tina.  A memorial service will be held January 4, 2014 at Bellmead Funeral Home, 809 La Clede Street in Bellmead, TX, 76705.

The Class of 1961 sends sincere condolences to Doc's family.

Doc was born August 6, 1942 in Lincoln, Nebraska to David & Rose Snyder. He served in the Naval Construction Battalion from 1961 to 1964. Doc then pursued a life-long career as a truck driver. He had many hobbies with his family and friends, including horse shows, car racing, four-wheeling, and he thorougly loved riding his Harley and going to Nascar. He is survived by his daughter Tina Wheeldon and husband Ted of Axtell, Texas, grandson Zane & great grand daughter Zoey Wheeldon of Eddy, Texas and his son Troy Snyder of Bellmead. He leaves behind his dear friend and companion Ruby Sitton of Axtell, her daughter Carolyn Sitton Pierce of Dallas.  Doc is also survived by his brother, Marvin Snyder of Dallas and his sister Judy Johnson of Lincoln, Nebraska.  He has many nieces, nephews, life-long friends, and “brothers”.
