In Memory

Dennis Garrison

May 30, 1943 - September 19, 2018

Gratitude is owed to our classmate, David Wicken, who called to our attention the passing of Dennis.  Contact has also been made with Dennis' sister Mary Meints of Lincoln.  Dennis has lived in Woodland CA for over 25 years but often visited Nebraska, especially during football season.  Recently he and a grandson attended Big Red Fan Day during which he got an autograph from Adrian Martinez, Husker quarterback.

Dennis attended Everett Junior High before attending LHS.

Dennis 'Denny' Lee Garrison passed away unexpectedly on September 19, 2018, at the age of 75. He was born in Arlington on May 30, 1943, to Kenneth and Lena Mae Garrison. Denny loved two things the most in life: his family and his Nebraska Cornhuskers.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Carol (Morrissey) Garrison; children Steve Garrison and Jeff Garrison; step-children Patty Rivas (Jose) and Billie Jo Shaw; grandchildren Aaron, Adrianna, Ashly, Jeweliann, Jordan, Jose, Joshua, and Ryan (Holly); five great-grandchildren; siblings Mary Meints (Virgil), Gayle Garrison, Doug Maughan, and Fred Schmid; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth Earl Garrison and Lena Mae Wittwer; sister Lana Jordan; and step-son Joey Shaw.

A memorial service and celebration of life will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 4, at the Church of Nazarene located at 100 Woodland Ave. in Woodland, Calif. Light lunch will be provided following the memorial for friends and family. Donations can be made in his name to the American Heart Association.
