We have learned of Jerry's death which occurred a day before Christmas 2022.  The Class of 1961 sends sincere condolences to Jerry's family.  

Jerry Alva Bodfield, 78, of Lincoln passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022. He was born January 1, 1944, in Lincoln, NE. He was the 3rd oldest of 10 children.

Jerry attended Lincoln High School until enlisting in the United States Marine Corps in 1961 and was an active member until 1969. He was a painter by trade both independently and for the University of Nebraska. Known to most by Joby, he loved the outdoors, family get togethers, a good honky tonk & spending time with his children, grandchildren, nephews and brothers. He loved Westerns, Country Music, Dancing, and had an avid interest in history.

Jerry is survived by children: Toby (Esther) of Sarasota, Lori (Victor) of Miami, Mike Passehl of Coulter, Josh (Anna) of Chicago & daughter Jenny of Lincoln; grandchildren, Justin, Megan, Heather, Hannah, Sophia, Delilah, Lucy and Leo, Brothers Billy, Timmy, Steven, sister Sharon, many nephews, nieces, cousins & loved ones Linda, Cherie, Bertie & Jean. Preceded in death by parents Verni and Rachel, brothers, Ronnie, Jimmy, Tommy, Ricky & Roger.

Graveside Service WAS Friday January 13th at 12:00pm, Roca Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the family. Alternative Funeral and Cremation Service
