Sandra K. Frey (Young), of Barling, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, in a local Fort Smith, Ark., hospital hospice. Sandy was born on June 22, 1943, in Lincoln. She worked at the Arbor Day Foundation in Lincoln for 34 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Marie Young; a brother, Roger Young; son, Shane Frey; and a granddaughter, Madison Frey. She is survived by a son, Shawn Frey, of Cape San Blas, Florida; two daughters, Cheri Edman and husband, Ronnie, of Lincoln and Shelley Ford and husband, Mark, of Fort Smith, Arkansas; a brother, Packy Young and wife, Mitzi, of Temple, Texas; sister-in-law, Shirley Young of Lincoln; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and her close friend, Bill Stewart. Sandy was formerly married to our LHS Classmate, Ray Frey. A celebration of Sandy's life will be held Friday, August 3, 2018, from 1:30 to 4:30 PM, in the Auld Pavilion at Antelope Park, Lincoln, NE. The celebration will be hosted by her three children, Shelley, Shawn and Cheri. Sandy was formerly married to our LHS Classmate, Ray Frey. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation or the ALS Association.
